Project Description

Layon Municipal Sanitary Landfill Entrance Area Facilities is a waste disposal facility that accepts and processes the municipal solid waste from the Island of Guam. The scope of work included the construction of entrance area facilities for the landfill, which consisted of the administration building/scale house with truck weigh scale and paved parking, maintenance building with paved parking, generator and pump building, drainage system and pipe culverts, sanitary sewer system and pump station, water system and water storage tank, truck mud rack, equipment wash rack/sedimentation basin, oil water separator, diesel fuel storage tank, entrance area road complete with traffic signs, markers and striping, site fence, and other environmental controls.

Also included in the contracted scope was the construction of disposal cells 1 and 2, installation of liner and LCRS system, leachate collection with storage tank and pumping system, subdrain system including catchment tank and road to tank, gas collection system, perimeter road extension, pond no. 2 and drainage facilities, site fence, and other control and environmental features required to prepare the cells for receiving trash.
