Project Description
A 1.20-hectare project that included site development, civil works, structural, architectural, electro-mechanical, security, and landscaping works in the construction of the New British Embassy. The slightly-sloping main building is clad in aluminum in contrast with the Visa/Consular section, which is clad in rough dark granite. The four-meter-high pergola defines the front of the main building and supports tropical planting while providing protection from the elements. Furthermore, the New Embassy paid careful attention to energy and water usage as well as long-term sustainability to garner an excellent rating from the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method or BREEAM. All of these efforts make this embassy a green building for the 21st century.
